 Pakistani Envoy: Iran, Pakistan keen on secure borderlines

Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran said on Sunday that Iranian and Pakistani governments both emphasize the need for strengthening ties with neighboring counties and establishment of a stable and secure region, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘Keeping in mind coming to office of the new Iranian and Pakistani governments, both countries are pursuing these objectives and we hope they will be successful in this regard,’ said Noor Mohammad Jadmani in a meeting with the governor general of Yazd province and the provincial officials.

He said that the Pakistani prime minister’s last year visit of Iran was aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties.

He expressed concern about the decrease in trade betweem Iran and Pakistan and said that the two countries’ previous one billion dollars trade has lowered to $300 million, hoping for enhanced trade.

The Pakistani envoy said that one of the factors leading to the lowering of the bilateral trade is the US sanctions.

The ambassador said that the two countries have decided to replace the US dollar with their own national currencies in bilateral trade.

Ambassador Jadmani was accompanied by Pakistani Embassy’s visa official, trade attaché, and Pakistan consul in Zahedan during his two-day visit of Yazd.

He visited some factories and consulted with a number of Yazdi industrialists, merchants and provincial officials.
