Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Asif Durrani, met the president of Iran-Pakistan Friendship Group, Ahmad Amirabadi, at the Iranian Parliament, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Amirabadi described Iran and Pakistan as two brotherly countries which share a common history, culture and religion. Parliaments of the two countries can play an important role in bringing people of both countries closer. Parliaments can also contribute towards stability and economic progress of the two countries.
The Iran-Pakistan Friendship Group in Iran’s Parliament has been established recently.
Asif Durrani said he hoped that the Iran-Pakistan Friendship Group in the Iranian Parliament would play an important role in further cementing friendly relations between the two brotherly nations.
He stated that similar friendship groups have been founded in the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan and hoped that parliamentary friendship groups of both countries would provide the necessary platform for building a dynamic relationship between the two neighboring countries.
