Turkey’s Ambassador to Iran, Umit Yardim said that Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu’s is scheduled to pay an official visit to Tehran, AVA diplomatic reports.Umit Yardim mentioned to Davutoglu’s three-day-long trip to Tehran and said: “This travel will be on November 25, and is aimed at holding talks with Iranian officials on the issues of mutual interests and participating in the Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran,”
During the Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), furthering commercial relations among members is on the top of agenda and Iran will appointed as the chairman of ECO for one year. “Tehran-Ankara relations have been always sounds, friendly and more active in recent months in comparison with last years,” Turkey’s Ambassador to Iran pointed to Turkey FM presence at Iran president inauguration celebration and imminent Iran FM travel to Turkey.
Umit Yardim considered Iran recent presidency election, changes after incumbency of new president, global developments and Iran-P5+1 negotiation as the elements which improved Iran and Turkey relations. He reminded official invitation of Turkey president, Abdullah Gül from his Iranian counterpart, Dr. Rouhani and announced that travel scheduling was under process and it would come true in next two or three months.
When he was asked about US-Turkey FMs meeting, Umit Yardim claimed that he didn’t know the details more than what surfaced in medias, but reiterated that communication channels between Iran and western countries were open and there was no need for mediator country as Iran president recently had a call with Britain PM. Turkish ambassador to Iran expressed his optimism over Iran nuclear issue talks and evaluated all parties of negotiation “with high determination and positive point of view.”
“Any result of these negotiations should be based on all parties’ interest and it should be continued through comprehensive cooperation,” he added.
Turkey’s Ambassador to Iran announced that there would be multiple commercial meetings between Iran and Turkey high authorities in next few months.
“There will be expert and commercial meetings so as to remove hurdles in road of expanding mutual trade and dates of them will be declared so soon,” he urged expansion of bilateral commercial relations.
Umit Yardim considered EU-US sanctions and money transferring blockade of Iran as the most important issues which hinder the two countries trade.
“Iran and Turkey are determined to boost their trade exchanges to $35bln in the near future,” he concluded “; Therefore, this year (2014) will be year of re-flourishing and power boosting of Tehran-Ankara commercial relations.”
