Abdullah Bin Zayed Meets His Iranian Counterpart, Opens new Embassy Building In Tehran
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Foreign Minister, yesterday received the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif, AVA Diplomatic reports.During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, especially the relations between the two friendly neighboring countries and peoples, and ways to strengthen them. They also discussed the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the UAE- Iranian relations are historic and based on mutual respect, good neighborliness’ and joint cooperation to ensure security and stability in the region under the wise leadership in both countries. He added that Iran is a trade partner to the UAE, noting that there is common interest for the two countries to encourage the private sector investments. Sheikh Abdullah said that the joint UAE – Iranian joint committee will hold its meeting in the first half of 2014.
The Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated the UAE on winning to host Expo 2020.
The UAE Foreign Minister inaugurated the new Embassy building in Tehran in the presence of the Iranian Foreign Minister. They were received by the UAE Ambassador to Iran Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Za’abi and the Embassy staff Sheikh Abdullah unveiled the memorial plaque, marking the opening of the new embassy building. He also hoisted the U.AE. Flag over the embassy building. Sheikh Abdullah urged the embassy staff to continue offering the services to Emiratis and reflect the image of the country.
