UN’s participation in the Tehran International Book Fair is a unique opportunity not only to get some fresh UN publications and multimedia materials, but also to find out about its work in Iran. UN system in Iran for the 13th year is participating in the Tehran International Book Fair from 4 to 14 May 2015, AVA Diplomatic reports.

This year the agencies representing in the UN booth are UN Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and cultural Organization (UNESCO), UN Population Fund (UNFPA), UN-Habitat, UN Information Centre (UNIC), United Nations Industrial Organization (UNIDO), World Health Organization (WHO) and International Organization for Migration (IOM).

UN multimedia materials are available at the UN booth, which is located at the Nations Hall of Shahr-e Aftab in front of the information desk of Russia.

President Rouhani participated in the opening ceremony of the TIBF.

The cultural event began its work with the Iranian president’s speech one day before the exhibition’s official opening to the public. This year’s book fair will continue until May 14 with the motto of “Tomorrow is late for reading”.
