Cultural counselors navigate the UN online

Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) in cooperation with the UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Tehran held a workshop on “Finding UN Information and Documentation” for some 25 managers of the organization and the cultural counselors of Iran in different countries on 27 January 2019 at ICRO, AVA Diplomatic reports.

This was the first of a series of training sessions that ICRO is planning to hold for cultural counselors with cooperation of UNIC.

The session started with the opening remarks of General Director of Cultural Exchanges and International Organizations Dr. Ali Saadat Azar.

Then UNIC Reference Assistant Ms. Nazanin Ghaemmaghami elaborated on some basic facts about the UN. She addressed the participants on how to retrieve UN documentation and information from UN and UNIC websites and on the Dag Hammarskjold Library’s (DHL) web page and gave an overview of document symbols.

Persian copies of the UN Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN System Chart were distributed among the participants.

Dr. Ali Saadat Azar expressed his satisfaction with the session and hoped that the second workshop could be held very soon at ICRO.
