Iran protests Turkey over attacks against Iranian trucks, nationals

Iran on Wednesday protested Turkey about systematic attacks against Iranian trucks and nationals moving on international transit roads inside the Turkish territory, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Director General of the Commonwealth and Caucasus Affairs Department at Foreign Ministry, Morteza Moradian, on Wednesday communicated with Turkish Ambassador in Tehran, Reza Hakan Tekin, to convey Iranian protest over continued attacks against Iranian nationals and trucks in Turkish soil.

Moradian said that the Turkish government must pay more attention to ensure safety and security of Iranian trucks and nationals.

The protest was made following recent unrest on eastern Turkey and the repeated terrorist attacks against Iranian lorry drivers.

Tekin said that he would convey Iranian protest to the Turkish government and would inform Tehran of the reply from Ankara.
