New Turkish ambassador meets FM Zarif

Turkey’s new ambassador to Iran on Wednesday met with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, AVA Diplomatic reports.
During the meeting, Derya Örs submitted a copy of his credentials to the Iranian foreign minister.
Professor Örs, well versed in Persian language, was head of Turkey’s Ataturk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History. He also acted as translator for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Turkish leader’s past meetings with Iranian officials.
Örs succeeded Reza Hakan Tekin, who had served as Turkey’s ambassador to Iran since October 2014.
