Turkish Envoy Lauds Iran’s Stances after US JCPOA Withdrawal
After US President Donald Trump declared his country’s withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran adopted “constructive and moderate” stances, the Turkish ambassador to Tehran said, AVA Diplomatic reports.
“After Trump announced his position, we saw the stances adopted by Iran as constructive, moderate, good, and worthy of praise,” Reza Hakan Tekin said.
This mature way of dealing with the US move perhaps shattered the dreams of some countries that had been hatching plots, he added.
The diplomat further deplored the US move to leave the JCPOA, which he called efficient, as “a wrong decision”.
He added that since the deal’s implementation, Iran has fully met its obligations and reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) proves this.
“The unilateral withdrawal of the US from the international treaty, which has contributed to peace and stability in the region and the world, is not a constructive step towards serving global peace,” he stated.
