President Erdogan to visit Iran after Iranian New Year celebrations
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay a visit to Iran immediately after celebration of Persian New Year, Nowrooz (on March 21), Turkish ambassador to Tehran said on Monday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
‘We are finalizing the details of the Turkish presidential visit, including its dates, which will begin immediately after the Nowrooz celebrations,’ said Ambassador Reza Hakan Tekin in an interview with IRNA.
He expressed hope that the visit will not merely be a ceremonial one and contribute to achieving tangible results at the service of further improvement of comprehensive bilateral ties.
‘Numerous memoranda of understanding (MOU) in various fields are under survey, which we hope will be finalized during President Erdogan’s visit,’ reiterated the Turkish envoy.
Ambassador Tekin said that the Supreme Iran-Turkey Commission, led by the two countries’ presidents will convene for the 2nd time during the presidential visit and the two countries’ cabinets will convene a joint session in Tehran to resolve the remaining technical issues of mutual interest.
He said that the Supreme Iran-Turkey Commission first convened during President Hassan Rouhani’s state visit of Turkey.
