Islamic, Christian leaders should make plans for countering ISIL: Norwegian envoy
Norwegian Ambassador to Iran Aud Lise Norheim said on Saturday that religious leaders of Muslims and Christians should make plans for confronting terrorist group ISIL practices which have nothing to do with religion, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In a meeting with Isfahan Governor-General, Rasoul Zargarpour, she stressed the need for creating mutual religious discourse for developing a better understanding of monotheistic faiths.
Within the framework of the discourse, the ideology and limits for negotiations and freedom of speech among the religions will be identified, she said.
Norheim described holding international seminars on monotheistic faiths as the best way for mutually recognition of the religions and mutual respect among them.
She hoped that the number of Norwegian companies involved in the Iranian projects will increase after removal of sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program.
Zargarpour, for his part, called for exchange of scientific knowledge between Isfahan province and Norway, saying that the country boasts of high knowledge in energy and the fisheries.
Isfahan is among top provinces of Iran given the scientific, industrial and cultural progress, he said, noting that Isfahan is among top ten picturesque cities in the world.
Referring to holding of International Seminar on Dialogue Among Monotheistic Religions in Isfahan each year, Isfahan governor-general said that the event hosts leaders of the faiths from around the world.
