Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Wednesday that insecurities and crises in the region originate from the US mistakes as well as arming and supporting the terrorist groups by its allies, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Boroujerdi made the remarks in a meeting with Norwegian Ambassador to Iran Aud Lise Norheim.
He referred to the history of Iran-Norway ties, saying that grounds are ready for further promoting bilateral ties and dialogue between the two countries’ officials can help boost friendly ties.
Recalling the crucial role of parliamentary cooperation, Boroujerdi said that parliamentary ties will play a crucial part in enhancement of mutual collaboration.
Majlis welcomes dialogue between the two nations’ MPs, he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Boroujerdi referred to measures of terrorist groups in the region, Iran and Syria in particular, saying that ISIL and other terrorist groups are serious threat to global peace and security and dividing the terrorists into good and bad is a big mistake of the US, which will bring nothing to the region but fanning the flames of insecurity and unrest.
‘Iran welcomes cooperation with all the countries with real concern for fighting terrorism,’ he said.
The Norwegian envoy, for his part, pointed to the increasing trend of bilateral ties, saying that given Iran’s distinguished status in the region as well as its active in regional equations, Norwegian government and parliament welcome boosting ties with Iran.
Touching on Syrian developments, Norheim said that Norwegian government believes solution to Syrian crisis is not military and it should be settled through dialogue among relevant parties.
As to nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1, the envoy said that final deal on Iran’s nuclear work will have positive impacts on the world, in addition to promoting bilateral ties.
