UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Mahtab Keramati asks people to see “The Snowman”

Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati, who is the UNICEF goodwill ambassador, has asked the people of Zahedan in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan to go to see “The Snowman”, a play which is being performed at the Hadi Fazeli Hall of the city to raise funds for poor children in the province, AVA Diplomatic reports.“It is sad to see people living in poverty and seeing poor children causes grief for the soul of a human being,” Keramati said in a statement published by some Persian news agencies on Wednesday.

“Now, my friends and some artists from Zahedan are performing the comedy play ‘The Snowman’ based on a short story by Slawomir Mrozek to warm the hearts of the children in Sistan-Baluchestan,” she added.

She asked people in Zahedan to go to see the play in order to provide their generous support for the children.

She also asked those who are not able to watch the play but they want to help the children to buy tickets online on http://www.tiwall.com/theater/adambarfi.

Anahita Risbaf directs the play based on Polish writer Slawomir Mrozek’s short story “The Children”. The play will be on stage until October 24.

The play tells the story of a group of children, who create a snowman to occupy themselves on a day off from school. Various government officials, upon seeing their creation, chide them with increasing severity for malicious intent in their characterization of the snowman, which they considered to be offensive and a mockery.
