 Iran, Venezuela call for expansion of cultural cooperation

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran Amenhotep Zambrano on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of cultural and arts cooperation between the two countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.The MoU seeks to consolidate relations and cooperation in various fields such as politics, economy and engineering services, Jannati said.

Iran is ready to broaden cooperation in cultural and arts field including holding of cultural weeks, Jannati said.

The two sides can translate the works of Iranian and Venezuelan writers and put them at the disposal of interested groups which helps bring the two nations closer to each other, he said.

Cooperation between the two sides’ media can help introduce traditions, history and civilization, he said.

Venezuela is very capable country in terms of cultural and art activities, Jannati said adding that it is expected the two sides relations in the sectors would broaden.

The Venezuelan envoy, for his part, urged expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always enjoyed a very ancient civilization and Venezuela is eager to broaden cultural and political relations with the country, he said.
