The Committee on Iran-Turkey Industrial Cooperation met for the second time in session attended by Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Turkish ambassador to Tehran, AVA diplomatic reports.
“Preparation of preferential tariffs between Iran and Turkey can make a great contribution to the expansion of trade exchanges between the two countries,” said Iranian Industry, Mines, and Trade Minister Mohammadreza Ne’matzadeh in a meeting with Turkish ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim.
“The two neighboring countries had projected higher targets for trade and economic cooperation in recent years, which require Tehran and Ankara to make more efforts to reach the targets,” Nematzadeh added.
The Iranian minister called on the Turkish government to take an immediate action to remove the obstacles in the way of financial exchanges of Iranian businessmen in Turkey.
The Turkish ambassador Umit Yardim, for his part, reiterated that efforts have been made to establish balance in the monetary system and remove the obstacles of the banking system, expressing hope the problems will soon be resolved.
He said tens of Iranian companies are currently active in Turkey, stressing that his country is keen to increase economic cooperation with Iran.
