Turkish ambassador visits NLAI director

Turkish Ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim met NLAI’s director Eshagh Salahi on Wednesday to discuss expansion of bilateral cultural relations, AVA diplomatic reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim expressed happiness to learn about the vast range of activities pursued at the library, and offered Salahi a draft memorandum of understanding for furthering cultural relations between Iran and Turkey and asked the Iranian side to immediately sign it.

He also described Iranian National Library and Archives Organization’s activities as quite significant, calling for the beginning of interactions and the signing of an agreement between the two sides.

The memorandum of understanding has put special emphasis on establishment of an Iranian chamber at Turkey’s national library and a Turkish chamber in the Iranian National Library. Moreover, holding joint conferences, sessions, seminars, and exhibitions are also focused upon in the MoU.
