People’s resistance against terror gangs will lead to Syria’s ultimate victory: Ali Larijani

Syria’s Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud met and talked with Iranian Majlis Speaker Dr. Ali Larijani, AVA diplomatic reports.During the meeting, Ambassador Mahmoud offered a report on the latest political developments in his country, pointing to major gains in the fight against various plots and terrorist activities.

“As the real nature of the terrorist groups becomes clear for the Syrian people, we see popular support for the Syrian regime every day,” said Mahmoud.

“The aim of the terrorist gangs and their foreign sponsors is to destroy the economic infrastructures and oust a government that stands in the front line of the resistance against the Zionist regime,” the Syrian envoy added.

He further reiterated that both the planners and the executers of the vicious plots against the Syrian nation have failed in their efforts.

“Political and spiritual support from friend and brother countries such as Iran gives the Syrian people confidence in continuing their resistance,” he said thanking Iran for its principled and logical positions regarding his country’s developments.

The top Iranian lawmaker further underlined that the resistance of the Syrian people and government against various attacks and vicious plots by the terrorist gangs in the country and their foreign backers has so far achieved great results.

“Continued resistance of the Syrian people and government and strengthening the popular front against terrorist groups will lead to the final victory of the Syrian people and resistance,” he added.

He then noted that the principal goal of the foreign-backed militants in Syria is to destabilize the country and “break the line of revolutionary resistance” by the Syrian nation and rulers “against the expansionist policies of the Zionist regime (Israel) and its Western and regional supporters.”
