Austrian envoy: Iran confident partner in disaster relief

Austrian ambassador to Iran assessed Iran’s relief capacity during disasters as appropriate, saying Iran is a reliable partner in disaster relief, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘Iran has a good capacity in the software area in relief activities and it requires rapid reaction teams,’ Stefan Scholz said Saturday at Iran’s Red Crescent Society’s urban relief maneuver, organized by the UN Office in Tehran, Iran’s Prevention and Crisis Management Organization and the Austrian Embassy.

“The disasters, such as drought, caused many financial losses, and to counter it, we should consider the crisis management in the first stage”, he added.

Scholz underlined, “During one of the Iranian earthquakes, the teams from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Iran were working together for relief. This cooperation began within an international framework to witness effective responses.’
