Envoy: Russia Highly Critical of US Anti-JCPOA Diplomacy
Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan underlined Iran has complied with and fully implemented the nuclear deal it struck with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France, and Britain plus Germany) in Vienna in July 2015, AVA Diplomatic reports.
“The nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 in on the right track and Tehran has complied with it,” Dzhagaryan said in a meeting with Isfahan Governor General Mohsen Mehralizadeh on Saturday.
He reiterated that since taking office US President Donald Trump has always thrown obstacles in the way of the JCPOA implementation and even threatened that the US would exit the deal if the European governments did not rectify what he called as faults in the pact.
The Russian ambassador, however, reiterated that like the European countries Russia is determined to preserve the nuclear deal and support the stands of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this respect.
The coordination between Iran and Russia in connection with the Syria crisis has served to defeat to a large extent the menace of terrorism and its threats.
Referring to fast growing cooperation between the two countries particularly in the field of economy, the Russian envoy said the 14th session of Iran-Russia joint economic commission is to be held in Moscow from March 5-6 and a large delegation of Iranian traders and economic activists is expected to take part in the meeting.
According to a report by the Russian Embassy in Tehran, the value of trade exchanges between the two countries in 2016 amounted to 2.2 billion dollars a major part of which was related to export of Russian machinery, transportation equipment, foodstuff and metals to Iran.
