Democratic People’s Republic of Korea ambassador in Iran Kang Sam Hyon on Wednesday called for opening the Islamic Republic News Agency’s office in Pyongyang, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Hyon made the remarks in a meeting with IRNA Managing-Director Mohammad Khoddadi after touring IRNA headquarters in Tehran.
IRNA has reporters in more than 20 countries and has news exchanges with 70 news agencies across the world.
The DPRK ambassador said that Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and other media of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korean are eager to have direct cooperation with IRNA.
He welcomed a proposal made by IRNA chief for creating a news and photo linkage line between IRNA and KCNA, saying his country is ready to host IRNA news groups for taking news reports and interviews with the DPRK officials.
He invited IRNA managing-director to visit Pyongyang and welcomed an invitation to KCNA chief to visit Iran, saying the visit will be made in the proper time.
