Armenian ambassador calls for expansion of economic cooperation with Iran
Armenian Ambassador to Tehran, Artashes Tumanyan said on Wednesday that Yerevan is to broaden all out economic cooperation with Tehran, AVA Diplomatic reports.
The Armenian ambassador made the remarks in a meeting with Qazvin Province Governor General Fereydoun Hemmati in Qazvin.
Iran and Armenia have excellent high level relations but their economic cooperation failed to keep up with the level of political ties and it sounds necessary to enhance level of economic cooperation in line with the excellent political ties, he said.
The two nations have maintained good level of relations and the economic cooperation would further expand in the future, he said.
The ambassador said that Iran and Armenia have high tourism capacity and following elimination of visa requirement, the ground is prepared to boost exchange of tourists.
Iranian businessmen and companies can export their products to Armenia as well as other EU members benefiting from tax and customs exemption, he said.
The Armenian ambassador is currently on a visit to Qazvin to get acquainted with its economic, scientific, cultural and tourism capabilities.
