Iraqi envoy rules out Iranian interference in other states’ affairs

Iraqi ambassador to Iran Rajeh Saber Abboud al-Mousavi said on Tuesday that there is no evidence about the so-called Iranian meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.
The Iraqi ambassador made the remarks in reaction to anti-Iran comments by certain Arab states in a recent Arab League meeting.
Iran is the main country contributing to regional stability, al-Mousavi said, adding that Iraq has always been grateful of Iran’s historic role in maintaining the regional and even global peace and stability.
Some regional governments are not satisfied with the fact that Iran stands by the Iraqi government, the ambassador said.
They are taking a hostile stance towards Iran so that with adding up to violence and terrorism, they can divide the region based on sectarianism and bias, he added.
If there was not the support of Iran and the popular forces, Iraq would collapse and if Iraq is lost, all the regional countries would collapse, al-Mousavi said.
He said that the support of certain regional governments for terrorism is aimed at preventing democracy from finding its way into their countries.
Al-Mousavi made it clear that Iran’s presence in Iraq is in the form of military advisory and upon Iraqi invitation.
Iraq will never forget Iranian support for the Iraqi government, the ambassador said, adding that Iran can protect peace and security in Iraq.
