 Mexico set to launch joint commerce chamber with Iran: Envoy

Ambassador of Mexico to Tehran said his country intends to increase its bilateral trade ties with Iran and is ready to establish the joint chamber of commerce, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘We can jointly produce goods and cooperate in production of food stuff, car spare parts, heavy machinary, gold, and jewelry,’ he said in a meeting with the Governor of Iran Customs Administration (ICA) Masoud Karbasian here on Wednesday.

He supported presence of Mexican investors and traders in Iran’s Chahbahar and Assluyeh ports and also said that Tehran and Mexico can cooperate in the fight against arms smuggling and money laundering. Karbasian welcomed enhanced trade and economic ties with Mexico and said that both countries can increase their relations in the post-sanctions era.

He referred to Iran’s neighboring with 15 countries and said that seven of them which are land-locked are transiting their goods via Iran because of high security. ‘Iran is a member to 50 customs conventions,’ said the ICA chief.
