“Astra Port Enjoys Unique Nature,” Stresses Bangladesh’s Ambassador

The ambassador of Bangladesh paid a visit to the border port of Astra in Gilan and stressed its touristic capacities while comparing the province’s climate to that of his own country, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Khandkar Abdussattar said on his two-day trip, “Iran was an admirable host of the NAM Summit last year on the sidelines of which the PM of Bangladesh and Iran’s Supreme Leader as well as both our FMs met accentuating the expansion of ties bilaterally in all aspects.”
Abdussattar further added, “In this regard and to further deepen the ties, we convened a session with the members of the Chamber of Commerce of Gilan in Rasht and its results will soon be known to all in a near future.”
The ambassador of a country of 148 million population – marked as the world’s 9th most populated country – placed his emphasis on the development of trade volumes between the two countries and reiterated, “Iranian businessmen and merchants are scheduled to visit Bangladesh to expedite economic activities.”
Khandkar Abdussattar related the ties between the two countries to long years and mentioned, “Efforts should come from both sides to put economic potentials in full practice.” He also praised the unique nature and climate of the port viewing it as similar to that of his country which can attract considerable rates of tourism.
