Culture Minister Meets Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Iran

Iran’s Minister of Culture met and exchanged views with Khandkar Abdussattar, AVA Diplomatic reports. Iran’s Ali Janati condemned Israel’s atrocities toward Gaza underscoring, “Nations in our region should stand with one another and be a monolith to be able to fight such crimes with greater power. Iran has from old days maintained fine cultural relations with Bangladesh and many artistic and cultural MOUs have been signed which, in themselves, solidified the scientific pillars between the two countries.”

Counting many Iranian works translated into Bengali, Janati added, “The translations into our two countries’ languages do indubitably play an important role in bringing our nations closer together. In addition to sharing a lot in culture, Iran and Bangladesh enjoy a great wealth of similarities in religion which makes them closer than before. According to the agreements inked between the two countries in culture, a period of 5 years was set to pursue the articles embodied and it is high time that they were resumed.”

Janati found commerce as a medium to transfer culture into other nations continuing, “We have been trying to create conditions in an order to have our artists take part in cultural and artistic festivals in Bangladesh to show where they stand in the world of art.”

On the other hand, Khandkar Abdussattar admired the cultural commonalities between the two countries saying, “In Bengali, there are 8 thousand Persian words which indicates how close the two nations are. Bangladesh holds a festival every two years in which artists and painters from all over the world, including Iran, take part and I hope that this time, we once again see Iranian artists participate in our festival.”
