Swiss Deputy FM to visit Iran’s Shalamche

Swiss deputy Foreign Minister, Yves Rossier, will visit Iran on Monday, choosing Shalamche, a city southwest of Iran that is reminiscent of the eight-year Sacred Defense (1980-88), as the first spot of his visit, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Head of Foreign Ministry representative office in Khouzestan Mehrzad Tabatabaie said that Rossier had been impressed by a film on Shalamche and public frequentation there, so choosing it as his first destination in tour to Iran.
He said based on a pre-scheduled timetable, the Swiss official will tour Ahvaz on Istanbul-Ahvaz flight early next Monday morning and change the Iranian city to Shalamche.
He added that to this end, Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Giulio Hass and his deputy will go to Khouzestan on Sunday to arrange preliminaries for the visit.
Nora Kronig, Regional Coordinator for Central and South America at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA), will be another member of the Swiss delegation in the Iran visit.
Tabatabai said the Swiss officials’ visit to Shalamche should be taken as a chance to introduce business and investment opportunities in the area.
