Tajikistan’s Emomzada Meets with Iran’s Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Tajikistan’s ambassador to Tehran called for closer cooperation between the two neighboring countries in various political and economic areas, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In his meeting with Nematollah Emomzada in Tehran on Monday evening, Larijani touched upon cultural and historical affinities between Iran and Tajikistan and stressed the need to further promote friendly relations in all spheres, parliamentary areas in particular.
“Promoting political and parliamentary relations will play an effective role in boosting cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan,” he noted.
The Tajik envoy, for his part, voiced his country’s willingness to enhance relations with the Islamic Republic in all fields, saying that given the two nations’ capacities and capabilities, serious efforts should be made to promote bilateral trade and cooperation.
Emomzada also made a remark about the fine ties between the two countries stating, “The government and nation of Tajikistan seeks expansion of ties with Iran in all dimensions and our officials are whole-heartedly working on that.”
Deeming the level of trades between the two countries to be insufficient, Emomzada said, “With an eye to the potentials and capabilities of Iran and Tajikistan, the increase of trades and cooperation between the two countries should receive serious attention.”
As an ending note, the Tajik ambassador stressed the implementation of the MOUs signed between the two countries’ officials.
