Iran, Turkey keen on promoting cultural ties
Head of National Library and Archives Organization Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri and Turkish Ambassador to Iran Reza Hakan Tekin underlined their interest to enhance Tehran-Ankara cultural ties, AVA Diplomatic reports.
During the meeting, Salehi-Amiri underscored deep-rooted cultural ties between Tehran and, saying that insight of the two countries’ officials has promoted bilateral ties.Iran’s president has a special sensitivity towards ties with Turkey and it is believed that most of regional issues will be resolved with enhancement of bilateral ties, he said.
Underlining joint cultural capacities, Salehi-Amiri added that historical roots of Iran-Turkey ties provide culture lovers with a unique opportunity for cultural interaction.Expressing his organization’s readiness for joint cultural undertakings, he officially invited head of Turkish National Archives to visit Iran.
Tekin, for his part, referred to cultural commonalities, saying, ‘We should focus further on common aspects of the two countries such as culture.’Expressing pleasure with visit to Turkey by a large number of Iranians in recent years, he said, ‘We are also trying to help the Turkish visit Iran which boasts of rich culture and civilization.’
Another reason for depth of commonalities is impact of Persian language on Turkish language, Tekin said, noting that most of the Iranians can read inscriptions from Othman era during their visit to Turkey.
