 UNICEF goodwill envoy Keramati seeks help

Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, has invited all people and artists to join her in completing the data bank of the Audio Book Library for the blind, AVA Diplomatic Reports.

The actress who is also Samsung Company’s envoy of ‘Hope for Children’ campaign, has also asked athletes and officials to join her in recording audio books for blind children.

The Audio Book Library is a part of the ‘Hope for Children’ campaign programs for blind children.

 “Some figures are popular among people and particularly children; Iranian artists including Bahram Radan, Sahar Dowlatshahi and Mohammad Bohrani have announced their readiness to help us in the campaign,” she said.

Keramati said in her previous visits to Ahvaz, Birjand and Kermanshah she had met several visually impaired children and got acquainted with their life style, abilities and capabilities. Visually impaired children, if attended to from a young age, will get the opportunity to show their talents and achieve far better results in life, she noted.

 “So far 550 audio books have been recorded which is indeed a great step. However we need additional books to cover all ages and choices.”

Interested individuals can log on www.zabtkonid.ir and record their voice. Following the approval, they will be informed.

There are 10 audio libraries in the country and two more are to be launched soon.
