President Rouhani pointed to the important problems of the region and the world, stressed cooperation among world nations and governments as necessary for tackling international problems, AVA Diplomatic reports.
He voiced readiness for cooperation with Iceland within the frameworks of international regulations.
He said the Iranian nation was only after safeguarding its inalienable nuclear rights.
President Hassan Rouhani, who was receiving the new Iceland ambassador to Tehran, pointed to the tough conditions of besieged people of Gaza.
“Today, Gaza suffer from paucity of medical aides and food,” Dr.Rouhani said, adding that the international community should know that all people share the same destiny.
President Rouhani also said that “If we remain indifferent to the plight of others, we will no right to expect others to express sympathy in our own plights either.”
New Iceland ambassador to Tehran, Gunnar Pálsson, presented his credentials to president Rouhani and conveyed warm greetings of his president to Dr.Rouhani, saying that Iceland would seek closer bilateral and international ties with Iran, although the two are geographically distant countries.
He pointed to the recent developments in the Middle East and emphasized that his country would spare no effort to expand relations with Iran.
