Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad Majid Al-Sheikh said his country needs international action and not the mere words in condemnation of the Takfiri terrorists’ crimes in Iraq, AVA Diplomatic reports.Majid Al-Sheikh’s remarks came after the militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), an Al-Qaeda offshoot, took control of the city of Mosul in Northern Iraq.
“We want all countries to help confront terrorism and terrorists in action; we do not need any statement or words in condemnation of the attacks,” Al-Sheikh stated.
He stressed people’s solidarity with the state, and said the nation supports the Iraqi army in its fight against terrorism.
The Iraqi envoy called on the country’s religious authorities to issue statements in support of the Iraqi government and army.
