Ugandan Ambassador to Iran Mohammad Ahmad Kissule has expressed strong interest to further expand his country’s economic ties with Iran, calling for implementation of memoranda of understanding already inked between the two states, AVA Diplomatic reports.Speaking in the northwestern Iranian city of Zanjan on Tuesday, Kissule said the Ugandan government is optimistic about Kampala-Tehran relations and wants to see agreements signed between the two nations put into effect.
He stressed that Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni attaches paramount significance to the development of trade and economic cooperation with Iran.
“Enemies are not happy with the expansion of ties between” the two countries, Kissule said, adding that the enemies seek to prevent bilateral relations from moving forward.
