Iran, Hungary Vow to Expand Ties
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Hungarian counterpart János Martonyi, in a meeting in New York, pledged to do their best to bolster the bilateral relations between Tehran and Budapest in all fields, AVA Diplomatic reports.During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 68th UN General Assembly session on Monday, the two top diplomats stressed that there are great potentials for further expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Zarif expressed Iran’s readiness for advancing relations with Hungary in various areas, including parliamentarian affairs and exchange of visits.
The Hungarian foreign minister, for his part, said that he believed ties with Iran should be expanded especially in the areas of academic, scientific, educational, trade and agricultural sectors.
In mid-February, Iran and Hungary reviewed ways to further develop the two countries’ bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.
The issue was raised in a meeting between Rapporteur of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini and Hungarian Ambassador to Tehran Gyula Petho here in Tehran.
Naqavi Hosseini underlined the expansion of mutual cooperation between Iran and Hungary in all fields, specially parliamentary, political and economic areas.
The Hungarian envoy, for his part, said that is prepared to enhance mutual cooperation with Iran in all fields, specially parliamentary ties.
He also pointed to the two countries’ great potentials for boosting and reinvigorating of bilateral economic, trade and scientific ties.
