Hungarian Ambassador to Tehran Gyula Petho Paid a visit to the Iranian Parliament’s Library, Museum and Documentation Center, AVA Diplomatic reports.During his visit, the ambassador talked about the cultural ties of Iran and Hungary and added that Jaszbereny is the Hungarian sister city of Yazd, noting the sisterhood agreement was signed between the municipalities of Yazd and Jaszbereny some six years ago.
Moreover a monument of the Hungarian city of Jaszbereny has been set up in Azadi Square in the central Iranian city of Yazd; the monument bears images of the Jassic people or Jasz, an ethnic group of Iranian descent who mostly live in the Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok county of Hungary.
In the meantime, the head of the center Mohammad Rajabi said that the ties of Iran-Hungary’s parliamentary libraries should expand and sources should be exchanged during joint exhibitions.
Rajabi presented a draft of a MoU to the ambassador in order to develop cooperation and he also welcomed the release of a list holding the names of Iranian manuscripts available at Hungary’s libraries and vice versa.
