New Austrian ambassador to Iran attended Tehran Art Forum to watch with Iranian chemical warfare veterans a documentary called “Memories for All Seasons” directed by Razzagh Karimi, AVA Diplomatic reports. On the anniversary of the Lifting the Siege of Abadan and Distinct Sacred Defense Documentary Films Week organized by Iranian Art Forumm’s cinematech in its Nasseri Hall, the documentary “Memories for All Seasons” directed by Mostafa Razzagh Karimi was screened in ceremony attended by the new Austrian ambassador Friedrich Stift, a group of artists and chemical warfare veterans from Tehran Peace Museum.
Only 3 days from his arrival in Iran, the Austrian envoy Friedrich Stift, accepted an invitation from the artists and chemical warfare veterans for his first participation in Iranian gatherings. “Apart from compliments, the deep films really moved and impressed me. I was a student at the time of war and saw videos of Iran-Iraq war on TV but I found the depth of the tragedy by seeing the film,” Stift said.
“Fortunately, although the film had a tragic theme it did not have a propagandizing form and that is why moves a cord in every audience,” he added.
“I should sadly say since there is no appropriate control over the (chemical) weapons in the world, there are still many who can use them but practically speaking, we should all try to screen this film and I will do my best to screen it in Austrian high schools and national TV,” the Austrian ambassador said.
Mostafa Razzagh Karimi also described his reasons why he felt responsible to make the film, expressing hope grounds are provided for him to make a story based on the same theme in the future.
Then a telephone call was connected with Professor Freilinger, who played a significant role in the treatment of Iranian chemical warfare veterans in Vienna, Austria. He saluted the veterans in the hall some of whom were treated by him, saying “It is a great pleasure for me to be able to speak in the session attended by my former patients even though due to the intensity of the injuries I and my colleagues could not do much for them,” he said.
At the end of the ceremony, two veterans Mr. Palizban and captain Gholamhosseini as well as Dr. Soroush and Dr. Khateri from Tehran Peace Museum spoke and thanked the Austrian ambassador and other guests for their attendance.
