Tehran’s Vahdat Hall hosted the opening ceremony of a Russian Culture Week, attended by the Russian Deputy Minister of Cultural Affairs Grigory Petrovic Ivliev, the director of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and the Russian ambassador, AVA Diplomatic reports.“Today, all of us are watching an important event in the history of bilateral ties. As the Russian plenipotentiary ambassador, I am pleased to attend the ceremony in person,” said Russian ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan at the beginning of the ceremony.

“After the collapse of the Soviet Union, we are sea neighbors with Iran but unfortunately our culture has been little known. This is an undeniable fact and admittedly we should do something to improve it. I think the two countries’ culture weeks are a good means of cultural solidarity,” Dzhagaryan added.
