 Maintaining trade ties with Iran priority of Austrian government

Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stefan Scholz said on Monday that easing economic and trade ties between Iran and Austria to promote relations between the two countries’ private sectors is one of the Austrian government’s priorities, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Scholz, who is currently in Arak, hailed Markazi province’s trade, economic and industrial capacities, saying that they have prepared suitable ground for boosting communications among the Austrian and the provincial tradesmen.

“Anti-Iran sanctions have made trade relations with Iran a little difficult but they can be improved through efforts,” he said.

He further noted that he is in Markazi province to find economic partners as well as areas of cooperation with the province.

“Austria serves as representative of European Union in Iran, as it tries to send positive signals from Iran so that the Iranian nation would be able to benefit from achievements of JCPOA,” he said.

Provincial deputy governor general, for his part, said that the province boasts of special geographical location in the economic field.

Saeed Farrokhi further noted that the Iranian nation has got accustomed to hard conditions and the European states need to make the hard decision and help the Iranian nation in countering the sanctions.
