International Day of Persons with Disabilities commemorated in Alvand City

A celebration was organized by Disability Association of Tavana (DAT) at Yadegare_Imam Stadium of Alvand City in the Qazvin Province to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 4 December 2018, AVA Diplomatic reports.

The gathering was organized by the DAT Branch in Alvand City and in collaboration with Bureau of Persons with Disability of the Qazvin Province as well as Alborz City Sports Board.

Some 400 members of the DAT, more than one hundred athletes with disabilities and senior government officials such as mayor of Alvand City as well as Alvand City Council Members and a number of other officials including Friday Prayer Leader of the city attended the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, all participants in the tournament received certificates of appreciation and cash prizes. Finally, copies of the Persian version of the message of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities were given to the participants.
