Turkish ambassador: Americans’ withdrawal a mistake
Turkish Ambassador to Iran Reza Hakan Takin says America’s leaving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was a mistake, but the mistake provided Iran with an opportunity to draw up independent breakthroughs, AVA Diplomatic reports.
During the meeting with Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan, the Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Parliament and the Director of the International Affairs Department at the Parliament, Takin referred to the region’s developments and said that lasting peace in Syria is considerd. History shows those, who resort to terrorism, are themselves victims of terrorism.
Recalling the measures of some countries in the region, he remarked, ‘The efforts for peace and stability in the region are important, and we will continue our cooperation for security in the Middle East.’
The Turkish ambassador to Tehran also said that the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the international agreement was a mistake, which, of course, provided Iran with an opportunity to provide independent solutions.
Takin further expressed his satisfaction with the privileged relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey, emphasizing the need for the expansion of relations between the two countries.
The Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament also noted the positive relationship between the two countries at different levels, emphasizing the importance of the parliamentary relations between Iran and Turkey.
Amir Abdollahiyan said, ‘In addition to official and parliamentary relations, the popular relations between Iran and Turkey are historic and sustainable, and this is an important asset in the relations between the two countries.’
