Turkish Ambassador to Iran Reza Hakan Takin underlined that Ankara and Tehran are partners in trade and economic fields and not competitors, AVA Diplomatic reports, AVA Diplomatic reports.
“Turkey considers Iran as its partner and not rival; the ongoing interactions between the two countries is constructive,” the Turkish envoy said.
Hakan Takin said that Iran and Turkey are very close to each other and one of the privileges of the two countries is good relations between their nations as they have done nothing to harm bilateral ties,” he said.
In relevant remarks in late April, Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard voiced Tehran’s readiness to further bolster all-out cooperation with Ankara, especially in trade and economic fields.
“Tehran believes in expansion of balanced trade relations with Turkey in all dimensions,” Taherianfard said.
The Iranian ambassador also underlined the need for broadening of cultural relations with Turkey.
In relevant remarks in late December, Taherianfard and Leader of Turkey’s Felicity Party, Temel Karamollaoğlu in a meeting in Ankara underlined the need for the expansion of mutual cooperation.
During the meeting in the Turkish capital, Taherianfard and Karamollaoğlu explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating of bilateral ties in different areas.
The two sides stressed friendly ties, while warning against certain attempts aimed at undermining the two countries’ relations.
The Turkish official warned against attempts at undermining the friendly ties between Iran and Turkey, and said his country is keeping a watchful eye on such developments.
“We believe that we should not focus on differences in opinions, rather make efforts to expand relations based on common views,” he stressed.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, maintained that the best way for arriving at common stances is through constructive dialogues, understanding and developing mutual trust.
