Iran plays strategic role in transporting goods to Europe
Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stefan Scholz saying on Sunday that Iran plays a crucial role in transporting goods to Europe called for promotion of bilateral ties, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In a meeting with the Head of Gilan province Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture in Rasht Hadi Tizhoush-Taban, he added, “Gilan is the third province I have so far visited and our aim is to forge close ties with the country.”
“I feel myself at home in the province and one of my objectives behind visiting the province is t express willingness for close cooperation between Austria and Iran,” he said.
Meanwhile, Austrian Embassy’s commercial attaché put the value of Iran’s exports to his country at 120 million euros in 2017, saying that the figure registered a 50 percent increase compared to that for the year earlier.
Cristoph Grab Mayer further noted that Iran’s imports from Austria stood at 300 million euros, up by ten percent compared to last year.
He also hailed commonalties between Austria and Gilan, saying that due attention has not been paid to the Caspian Sea as much as it deserves.
For his part, Tizhoush-Taban referred to the economic capacities of the province, saying that Anzali and Astara ports and Anzali Free Zone boast of major capacities for transporting goods and handling exports and imports.
He also highlighted the province’s economic capacities for exports and imports.
