Norway’s ambassador to Tehran said on Monday that his country welcomes joint investment with Iran in various spheres, including oil, gas, fishing, agriculture and shipping, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Lars Nordrum at a meeting with Head of Iran-Norway Parliamentary Friendship Group Ahmad Amirabadi said, ‘The government and companies of the Norway welcome all kinds of trade cooperation in gas and oil, fishing, agriculture, and shipping with the Islamic Republic of Iran.’
He also called for more trade exchanges and sharing experiences with specialized committees of the two countries’ parliaments.
Acknowledging Iran’s measures in fighting terrorism and narcotics, he said, ‘Geographical location and sharing borders with Afghanistan has caused myriads of problems for Iran, so the international community should value Iran’s effective efforts on the issue.’
He also emphasized that his country will support the nuclear deal Iran has signed with major world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). He said that all parties should remain committed to the deal.
The Iranian lawmaker, for his part, said that the rich economic, political and trade potentials of the two countries should be used to the advantage of the two countries on the basis of a proper plan.
‘The parliamentary relations can play a big role in promoting bilateral ties between Iran and Norway,’ he said.
Regretting the US policies on JCPOA, he said that the European countries should confront the breaches committed by the US, and do not let it to discredit international deals.
