British envoy sympathizes with victims of Iran oil tanker

The UK ambassador to Iran in a message on Tuesday expressed sympathy over the deadly accident of an Iranian vessel near China shore, AVA Diplomatic reports.

“Saddened to hear about the collision involving an Iranian tanker in East China Sea. Hope ongoing rescue operation proves successful. My thoughts are with the families and those affected,” Nicholas Hopton said in a recent Twitter message.

An Iranian tanker carrying condensates collided with a Chinese freight ship in the East China coast on Saturday night, and the 32 members of the crew have gone missing. One body was found on Monday.

The body, transported to China’s Shanghai Port, belongs to an Iranian crew, but his identity is not clear yet.

The tanker is still burning after three days.
