JCPOA violation will destabilize region: Italian envoy
Violating the Iran nuclear deal will result in instability in the region, Italian Ambassador to Iran Mauro Conciatori said on Tuesday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
[The US] President [Donald] Trump’s upcoming decision on the 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) brings no change in the Europe’s choice or its support for the nuclear deal, Conciatori said while addressing the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations meeting in the Iranian capital.
Violation of the JCPOA will create tension and instability in the region, he said reiterating that Italy continues its support for the nuclear deal.
As what the Iranian FM spokesman has earlier said we have to wait for US president’s stance on JCPOA since its unpredictable now, he added.
He called for preserving Iran nuclear deal, saying it is a general agreement.
Rome is in contact with Washington to provide necessary consultations, Conciatori added.
