Envoy stresses Iran’s special place in Germany’s foreign policy
German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Klor-Berchtold said here on Sunday that Iran as an important country in the region and the world has a special place in Germany’s foreign policy, AVA Diplomatic reports.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian parliament’s Zoroastrian lawmaker Esfandiar Ekhtiari.
The ambassador also underlined necessity to prepare facilities for tourists of the two countries to develop this industry.
He praised Iran’s rich civilization and culture, and said that Goethe and many other prominent German and European cultural characters created their masterpieces by influence of Iran’s culture and art.
Klor-Berchtold expressed pleasure for growing trend of bilateral relations in the field of economic and industry, adding that consolidation and strengthening communication and parliamentary cooperation between both parliaments are under attention of German officials.
He pointed to the interests of German people concerning tourist attractions in Iran and stressed that preparing special facilities for tourists would have noticeable affects on development of tourism industry.
Ekhtiari pointed to background of ties between the two countries, and said that historical and deep-rooted relations in different politico-economic, cultural and parliamentary ties were always very good.
Referring to capabilities of both countries in different arena, Ekhtiari said that development, strengthening and mutual cooperation between the two states would be beneficial for both nations.
He added that according to Iran’s constitution, all religious minorities, including Zoroastrians, enjoy basic rights and may pray in their own shrines and have their own special schools.
Ekhtiari also said that all Majlis deputies support development of ties and cooperation trend between the two countries.
