Commemoration of the International Day of Families by efforts of DAT

Disability Association of Tavana (DAT) commemorated the International Day of Families at the DAT Conference Hall in the presence of 52 families on Monday 15 May 2017, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Some 91 guests, members of the board of directors of DAT and several DAT staffers participated in this ceremony whose main theme was “Families, Education and Welfare.”

Families and their disabled children took part in this happy ceremony. They also participated in competitions that had been organized by DAT. On the occasion of this very important day, families partook in a book reading competition. In addition, the participating disabled children took part in a painting competition.

It should be pointed out that the participating mothers took part in a cooking competition. This competition was judged by Ms. Maryam Aslani, who is an expert of education management. The three winners of the competition received coupons for purchasing the products of the Art Center of Handicraft Industries of Disabled People.

DAT Deputy for Social Affairs Mohammad Hassan Hadi, in his remarks referred to the vital role of families in realizing the potentials and discovering the capabilities of their disabled children and said that fathers, like mothers, should take care of the shortcomings as well as educational level of their children and endeavor to enhance the capabilities of their children and families.
