 Parliaments can facilitate governments’ relations: MP

A senior lawmaker described the parliamentary ties, especially those between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, as a facilitator for relations among the nations, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Ali Najafi-Khoshroodi, a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remarks in a meeting held here on Sunday with Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tehran Avazbek Abdurazakov.

Najafi-Khoshroodi, in the meeting, hoped that the upcomimg trip of the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Kyrgyzstan would lead to further all-out relations between the two countries and the removal of some problems such as visa issuance, banking, and direct flights between the two countries.

Zarif started his tour to three Central Asian and Caucasian states including Turkmenistan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan on Sunday (April 16).

Wishing success for the new Kyrgyz ambassador to Tehran, the member of Majlis noted that there is a bright future for Iran and Kyrgyzstan as the two sides enjoy cultural and historical commonalities as well as considerable capacities for fostering trade and political cooperation.

Najafi-Khoshroodi further appreciated Kyrgyzstan for its good stance on Iran regarding the anti-Iran human rights resolutions.

For his part, the Kyrgyz ambassador said that the obstacle to issuing visa is being removed according to mutual agreement on the question.

Abdurazakov then stressed that the travel of the Iranian foreign minister to Bishkek and the upcoming visit of the Kyrgyz parliament speaker to Tehran would be a good indication of expansion of relations.
