Roundtable discussion on New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants

Iranian Association of UN Studies (IAUNS) in partnership with UNIC Tehran organized a roundtable discussion on the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants at the House of Humanities Intellectuals (HHI) on 19 October 2016, AVA Diplomatic reports.

The roundtable began by President of IAUNS Dr. Nasrin Mosaffa’s welcoming remarks and later UNIC Director Dr. Maria Dotsenko read major parts of the New York Declaration for the participants.

The main speakers of were Islamic Azad University Professor and Expert on Migration and Refugees Dr. Safinaz Jadali and Professor Said Mahmoudi of Stockholm University. A video including H.E. Peter Thomson, President of the UNGA 71st Session’s statement as well as UN Secretary-General’s opening remarks and some issues related to the Summit for Refugees and Migrants was screened for some 35 members of IAUNS. The roundtable ended with a Q&A session
