Iran, Iraq overcome enemies together

Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati said enemies try to weaken Iran, Iraq relations, AVA Diplomatic reports.

In his meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to Iran Rajeh Al-Mousavi, Velayati stated that Iranian and Iraqi nations both would conquer their enemies.

Both sides stressed the importance of expanding mutual ties in various areas, discussing the significance of regional and international cooperation.

Iranian official touched the historical and cultural commonalities between Iranian and Iraqi nations, and stated that common religion, culture and history have caused deep ties between two countries.

The Iraqi envoy for his part said that the regional countries owe Iran one, noting if Iran had not helped Iraq against Daesh, the terrorists would have seized not only Iraq but also the whole region.
