South Korean Ambassador to Tehran Kim Seung-ho has said in Tehran that South Korea and Iran are going to produce joint TV serials, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Kim Seung-ho made the remark on the sidelines of Yonhap-IRNA joint photo exhibit.
He said 14 Korean producers had talked with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and 30 Iranian filmmakers for technical and financial cooperation in order to produce joint TV serials.
He said Iranians and Koreans had started cooperation for joint TV serial production and a seminar, entitled Korean Drama, was held at Milad Tower to that end.
He went on to say that several Korean producers had held talks with Iranian state and private film making companies, including the IRIB, on conditions of production of show, serial and film products.
Asked whether the talks had resulted in any agreement, he said any agreement will take time but the discussions have been fruitful.
He also highlighted other areas of mutual cultural cooperation, including holding symphonic orchestras to perform pieces of Korean music, an exhibition of Iranian calligraphers’ works and Korean side’s financing production of several short films made by young filmmakers.
